Three students from the Information Systems Study Program at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) were successfully selected to participate in the Generation Girl Training of Trainers (ToT) Program Batch 2, organized by Generation Girl in collaboration with The Rotary Foundation. The two-day, in-person training was held on July 18 – 19, 2026, at Mercure Convention Center Ancol, Jakarta, bringing together selected participants from across Indonesia.
The Information Systems students who participated in the program are:

All three participants are members of the 2022 cohort.
Generation Girl is an Indonesian non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women to become future leaders in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In this program, Generation Girl partnered with The Rotary Foundation, a global charitable organization that supports humanitarian and educational initiatives around the world.
The Training of Trainers program was designed for aspiring mentors, current mentors, and STEM professionals seeking to strengthen their mentoring, facilitation, and classroom management skills. Throughout the two-day program, participants received training from distinguished international facilitators from the United States: Shyamoli Banerjee, Kathy Yates, Priti Brahma, and Nancy Smith.
The training focused on developing mentoring competencies through interactive learning approaches, covering topics such as the flipped classroom method, lesson planning, effective communication and facilitation strategies, and hands-on teaching practice through microteaching sessions. In addition to classroom instruction, participants engaged in group discussions, case studies, learning simulations, reflective activities, and collaborative exercises designed to enhance leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Through these learning experiences, participants are expected to become competent and inspiring mentors who can support inclusive STEM education for younger generations, particularly girls and young women. The program also provided valuable opportunities to build professional networks with fellow participants from various regions across Indonesia while learning from experienced international educators.
The participation of Information Systems students in this prestigious program reflects their commitment to continuous personal and professional development beyond the classroom. It also demonstrates their readiness to cultivate leadership, communication, and mentoring skills that are increasingly important in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape.
