The Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSTI) at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology officially introduced a new FSTI alumni organization called OKTAGON — Orientation of Knowledge, Technology, and Alumni Generation of FSTI Network. At its inaugural meeting, Setiawan Amir, an alumnus of the 2013 Information Systems Study Program, was appointed as the Chair of OKTAGON. The organization is expected to become a solid networking platform to strengthen collaboration, contribution, and the development of the FSTI alumni community in the future.
The appointment of the OKTAGON Chair was carried out at the FSTI Grand Reunion event with the theme “Green Reunion: From Old Memories, New Hopes Grow.” The event brought together alumni from various batches to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen the relationships that had been established since their college days.
In this forum, the alumni agreed that Setiawan Amir has the capacity and commitment to lead OKTAGON in a more solid, progressive, and effective direction for the entire academic community. In addition, the reunion event was also an important moment to introduce OKTAGON as the official identity of the FSTI alumni organization. This name is not only a symbol of togetherness, but also reflects the hope that alumni will continue to play an active role in the development of knowledge, technological advancement, and the strengthening of collaborative networks within FSTI and the wider community.
The Information Systems Study Program, as part of FSTI, is proud that one of its alumni has been elected as Chair of OKTAGON. The study program also hopes that this organization will grow into an inclusive, dynamic, and sustainable space for collaboration for all FSTI alumni in the future.
