ITK Information Systems Students Sweep Hackathon Category Awards at the Kideco Innovation Challenge 2026 (Kalimantan Region) Grand Finale

BALIKPAPAN – The Kideco Innovation Challenge (KIC) 2026, themed "Accelerating Sustainable Mining & Energy Through AI-IoT Integration," officially concluded with a grand finale held at the Integrated Laboratory Building 1 Auditorium, Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK).

This regional innovation competition—a collaboration between PT Kideco Jaya Agung and ITK—served as a platform to recognize and celebrate the entire mentorship and competitive journey.

Prior to the finale, all participants and finalists had the valuable opportunity to visit PT Kideco Jaya Agung’s operational site in Batu Kajang, Paser Regency. This visit provided a tangible overview and a deep understanding of mining industry processes and the field application of sustainable technologies.

The finale program—featuring a video retrospective, leadership remarks, a networking session, and an inspirational briefing—culminated in the highly anticipated awards ceremony. During this event, ITK’s Information Systems Study Program achieved remarkable success by sweeping multiple top honors in the Hackathon competition.

This outstanding achievement was made possible through the guidance of faculty mentors from the ITK Information Systems Study Program—Aidil Saputra Kirsan, S.ST., M.Tr.Kom, and Arif Wicaksono Septyanto, M.Kom—who supported and directed the students throughout the competition process. The event concluded with a group photo session on stage featuring executives from PT Kideco Jaya Agung, the ITK academic community, faculty advisors, and all the winning teams. The success of these ITK Information Systems students in the Hackathon category is expected to further inspire them to develop smart, sustainable technological solutions for industries across the Kalimantan region and Indonesia.
