BALIKPAPAN — The Information Systems Study Program at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) successfully held the Open Talk and Alumni Talk Series #7 on Thursday (8/20/2026) at the ITK Labter Auditorium. With the theme "The Innovative Role of Information Systems Graduates in Responding to the New Era of AI Adoption in the Government Sector," this event was organized to address the growing need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills among Civil Servants (ASN). The activity highlighted the important strategic role of Information Systems graduates, especially as IT Governance Engineers, in guiding and bridging AI adoption in bureaucracy to ensure it remains safe, ethical, and compliant with regulations.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech from the department and study program leaders, introductions of the lecturers’ profiles, and culminated with a presentation by alumnus Rachman Setiawan Amir, S.Kom. During the presentation and interactive discussion session, the alumnus shared valuable insights on risk management, data security, and career opportunities for Information Systems graduates in the public sector. In addition, attendees also received an academic briefing on timelines, academic regulations, and extracurricular learning activities from Sri Rahayu Natasia, S.Komp., M.Si.
The event was then closed with a sharing and motivation session by the outstanding student, Siti Aminatuzzuhriyah, S.Kom., before ending with a group photo. Through this activity, students are expected to understand the practical application of information technology governance in the government sector, expand their networking with alumni, and prepare relevant skills to support the future era of government digitalization.
