The Internship Results Seminar (SEMHAS KP) is an important academic activity designed to bridge the theoretical knowledge gained by students in the classroom with practical experience in the professional world. Internships serve as a crucial link that narrows the gap between theory and practice, offering students the opportunity to directly understand the professional dynamics they will encounter after graduation. In recent years, the role of internships has become increasingly vital in line with technological developments, digitalization, and evolving industry demands that require students to possess strong adaptability. Through SEMHAS KP, the Information Systems Study Program of ITK provides a platform for students to reflect on their internship experiences while sharing insights and lessons learned throughout the program.
The Internship Results Seminar (SEMHAS KP), themed “Bridging Academic Knowledge with Industrial Experience,” was held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Integrated Laboratory Auditorium of ITK, starting from 08.00 WITA until the event concluded. The activity was attended by students of the Information Systems Study Program who had completed their internships, along with lecturers, students from various study programs, and industry partners. SEMHAS KP was designed as both an academic forum and an exhibition showcasing internship outputs, creating a space for interaction between students, lecturers, and industry representatives.
The event began with participant and visitor registration at the designated registration desk. The main program followed, conducted in an expo format where each participant managed their own booth displaying their internship project using X-Banners. During this session, participants presented their internship results directly to visitors, engaged in discussions, and responded to questions related to their projects. After all seminar sessions were completed, the event continued with an awarding session recognizing students with the best posters, selected based on visitor polling.
Overall, SEMHAS KP ran successfully and smoothly, involving 62 Information Systems students who completed their internships during the semester break before the even semester began. The enthusiasm of both participants and visitors was evident from the high level of engagement, not only from Information Systems students but also from students across other study programs at ITK. Additionally, the presence of various internship partners, such as PT Kaltim Kariangau Terminal, PT Transavia Otomasi Balikpapan, Bank Kaltimtara, Safebox, the Balikpapan Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, Unit Pembangkit (UP) Kaltimra, Bappeda Litbang Kota Balikpapan, PT Kamunesia Media Arta, and other partners, added significant value to the event. Through SEMHAS KP, it is expected that students will be better prepared to enter the workforce, equipped with relevant experience, knowledge, and skills, while also strengthening the relationship between academia and industry.
