On July 19 and 20 2024 at the Platinum Balikpapan hotel a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) event was held on Collaboration and Curriculum for the Mathematics and Information Technology Department of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology in 2024. This FGD aims to explore ways to increase the relevance of the curriculum to the needs of the local job market and national, as well as integrating the latest technology and effective teaching methodologies in the learning process. The Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at ITK also has challenges in maintaining educational standards that are competitive and relevant to global dynamics.

This FGD became a platform to identify collaboration opportunities between each study program at JMTI and industry, government agencies and other universities. Through in-depth discussions, it is hoped that innovative strategies can be created in curriculum development that produce graduates who are ready to compete in this digital era. Thus, it is hoped that this FGD can make a significant contribution in strengthening ITK's position as a superior technology education institution in Kalimantan and Indonesia more broadly.
